Downtown, on a bike, pure fun

Downtown, on a bike, pure fun

Cycling through the city like a true Amsterdammer. Driving over the canals and the bridges. This is not only really fun, but also the most practical in terms of transportation.

There are around 900,000 bicycles in Amsterdam and 63% of its inhabitants ride a bicycle. So you really have to do this and you will see that everything in Amsterdam is closer than you think.

The following locations in the city are really worth cycling:

De Jordaan: This part is undoubtedly the most sung and romanticized city district of Amsterdam or even The Netherlands. From the beginning of the 17th century it developed into a crowded neighborhood with a turbulent social history. Here you find al lot nice bars and restaurants to have a meal or drink.

Vondelpark: The largest CityPark of Amsterdam and is centrally placed nearby the Museum Quarter. The park is full of people – enjoying a sunny day, dog-walking, biking, jogging, roller-skating, listening to music, people-watching, or just lazing about in grass.

Along the Amstel: If you want to cycle more outside the city, you can cycle a whole lot from Amsterdam via the winding Amstel river. Once outside the city you will also come across a few old mills.
